How in the world did I not hear about this woman before today?!  I’m scrolling along the internet at my usual places looking for interesting women when all of a sudden I land on a page talking about Chiyome…and she was a freaking poet ninja.  Not only that, she trained other ladies to be ninja assassins and informants for the Takeda clan.  These women were trained as miko which allowed them to travel anywhere without raising an eyebrow.  These Kunoichi women would travel and gather information and sometimes even assassinate rivals of the Takeda clan.  Who’d think to pin the murder of someone in town on the shrine maiden?  She sounds like fantasy character!
